are thrilled to be accepting new conversion candidates.
Conversion candidates take an Introduction to Judaism course
and study privately with Rabbi Evon Yakar via skype once a
month. Rabbi Yakar is based in South Lake Tahoe, California
and teaches students all over the world. Of course if you
live near Lake Tahoe, such as in such as in San Francisco,
San Jose, Fresno, Reno, or Stockton you can study with him
in person occasionally when you come to Lake Tahoe to ski,
snowshoe or hike! Otherwise, we find studying by Skype to
be very effective.
Our
conversion course takes a minimum of one year. We want you
to be able to experience a full year of Jewish holidays and
festivals while you are studying with Rabbi Evon Yakar for
conversion, so he can help you glean the most meaning out
of each of them.
The
fee of $2,500 includes your monthly session with Rabbi Evon
Yakar and a year membership with Adventure Rabbi:Synagogue
Without Walls, but does not include the Introduction to Judaism
Class or mikveh fees.
