Schedule:
Saturday March 23, 2013: 7-9pm
Havdalah Program & Chametz filled dessert @ Temple Bat Yam
Sunday March 24, 2013:
All day backcountry adventure.
Snowshoe or Cross Country Ski Adventure near Luther Pass, which is about 30 minutes from town. We will meet at Temple and carpool. Snowshoes and poles are available for rent. (Exact location depends on snowpack, but we will be in a flat, avalanche free zone.)
We are offering a choice of snowshoeing or mellow cross-country skiing. This adventure is accessible to all levels of snow enthusiasts. If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Rabbi Evon and other staff members will help turn you into a pro. We will have two groups, one for "never-evers" and one for experienced participants.
Children who can walk 3 miles are welcome to join in. (Rabbi Korngold's commentary: Let me elaborate because my kids can walk three miles but wouldn't want to walk three miles. If your kids can handle the hike to the arch on our Moab hike, which is 3.2 miles, they can do this. We get it that its a rare kid who actually wants to walk 3 miles but ask yourself if physically they could, given the correct incentive. Hint: bring candy, a thermos of hot chocolate, and hot packs and you should be set.)
Evening: Hang out in town with your new friends. Soak in the hot tub, enjoy one of Lake Tahoe's great restaurants or just take some time to relax.
Monday, March 25, 2013:
Downhill Skiing at Heavenly Mountain
Meet at Tamarack Lodge on Heavenly Mountain - 10 am to break into groups.
We will enjoy a day of world class skiing at Heavenly Mountain (Colorado Five mountain passes are honored here!)
We will break into groups and ski by levels. No one need ski alone. Rabbi Evon will try to ski a little with each of the groups. (Please note, this is not guided skiing and each participant is responsible for their own lift ticket and gear. )
