Contract For Bar & Bat Mitzvah Services:

This form will serve as a contractual agreement for rabbinical services and enrollment in our Bar and Bat Mitzvah program.

The following are included:
1. Ten sessions with Rabbi Evon Yakar
2. Two sessions with the officiating rabbi, (Rabbi Yakar or Rabbi Korngold) via GoToMeeting, Skype, Facetime, phone or in-person. One of these sessions will be used to rehearse the ceremony.
3. Private Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony
4. Use of our Torah (please note: when out of Boulder, we use a one-third-size, paper, backpacking Torah)
5. Use of the Adventure Rabbi prayerbooks. (We own 100 copies)
6. Membership for the Bar or Bat Mitzvah candidate to the Adventure Rabbi Congregation during the course.

You will be responsible for the following expenses:
1. Program fee
2. All fees associated with site rental if applicable
3. Tutoring fees (different than coaching, which is included)
4. (optional) personalized service booklet
5. (optional) personalized kippot
6. (optional) tallitot

Bar MitzvahB’nai Mitzvah Coaching (Included):
The following content will be discussed. (Please note, subject matter may be altered slightly):

1. Introduction to the program
2. Meaning of becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah
3. How can Judaism help me make good choices as a teenager?
4. Why is Judaism relevant and meaningful to me, a 12-year only in the 21st century?

5. Review of progress on prayers
6. Meaning of Torah portion
7. Development and presentation of D’var Torah(Rabbi Evon) or D'var Shana (Rabbi Jordie)
8. Choice of Tikkun Olam project and progress with project
9. Development and presentation of Tikkun Olam speech
10. Discuss Shabbat Practice and log

Please Read This:
Rabbi Rabbi Evon Yakar''s schedules are intricate and full, making it difficult for them to schedule make-up sessions. Therefore, it is important that the student arrive on time and prepared for their sessions.
If you must reschedule, Rabbi Yakar will do their best to accommodate you. However, in the following cases, a $50 fee will be charged for the first time and $125 will be charged any additional incident. The card used for this contract will be charged.

- Canceling a session with less than 4 hours notice
- Not showing up at a session
- Arriving at a session unprepared so that a make-up session must be scheduled


Meeting with Officiating Rabbi (Included):
Bar MitzvahThe month before the Bar or Bat Mitzvah, please schedule two meetings the officiating rabbi, which may or may not be the same as the Coach by phone or in person. During these meetings we will plan and rehearse the service. You will have the opportunity to read all your prayers, Torah and speeches to the Rabbi.

Parents will want to be part of these meetings. This will be an opportunity for your family to personalize the service by choosing friends and family to lead readings, read prayers, present the tallis and many other honors.

Community (Student Membership Included):
We invite and encourage your family to participate in the many events run by the Adventure Rabbi Program. This will create an opportunity for your family to get to know Rabbi Korngold, as well as other families involved in our Bar and Bat Mitzvah program. To this end, we have included a student Adventure Rabbi membership with your enrollment. The membership is in effect for the 10 months of study. You can learn about our adventures, such as Passover in Moab, Utah and Rosh Hashanah in Winter Park, Colorado, and Yom Kippur in Boulder, Colorado at

If students from different families are sharing a ceremony with Rabbi Korngold, the fee for the second student is $3,500 no matter where the ceremony is.
If the ceremony is with Rabbi Yakar, the fee for the second student is $3,000 no matter where the ceremony is.

Note: Travel Expenses for Rabbi Korngold generally include: Tolls to and from airport (approx. $24), airport parking (approx. $23 per day), air travel (economy plus seating), business or resort class hotel, ground transportation (i.e. shuttle, rental car, taxi) and meals.

The program fee for a Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah is based on your choice selected above.

NOTE: Your credit card will be charged based on the payment options selected below, and the travel and Friday night service options selected above.

Our staff will review everything before your card is charged.

Option 1: 

One Payment in Full

If you choose to pay in full, we will deduct $100 from the total fee. 50% of the full payment will be non-refundable. Four months before the event, the entire amount becomes non-refundable.

Option 2: 

Monthly Payments

Your total amount will be divided into a $500 deposit and 10 monthly payments, completed before your ceremony date. (Note: If your sign up date is less than 10 months before ceremony, we will create equal monthly payments.)

All payments will be charged automatically and are non-refundable. If you would like to choose option 2, there will be an additional one-time service fee of $100, charged with the deposit, for monthly payment processing. (Credit cards only)

If, at any time during your payment plan, your credit card on file is declined, there will be an additional $20 service fee. In the case of a declined payment, this $20 service fee will be charged at a maximum of once per monthly declined payment.
