Rabbi Jamie Korngold, the Adventure Rabbi

Rabbi Jamie, author of God in the Wilderness (Doubleday, 2008) is best known for her pioneering work combining Judaism and nature. She revels in making Judaism accessible, meaningful and fun. Rabbi Korngold has 3 children's book due out in 2011 an 2012, but you can hear the stories in advance on Adventure Rabbi trips!

David Hansburg

Director of Rocky Mountain Day Camp, a camp for Boys and Girls Ages 4-12

David began his summer camp experience as a five year old camper at North Shore Day Camp in Glen Cove, New York. As he grew older he spent his summers on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee at Camp Alton in New Hampshire. David moved from camper to counselor and ultimately became the Athletic Director at Alton. Some of his best friends today are the people he met at Camp Alton as a child.

David attended Amherst College in Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He played football and lacrosse there. David has spent thirteen years working in college athletics as an Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Football Coach. He has also been Camp Director at Northwestern University, University of Idaho and the University of Colorado-Boulder. David brings over twenty years of camp experience to Rocky Mountain Day Camp.

David likes to spend his spare time with his three children; coaching Paxton’s soccer team, attending Zoe’s cheerleading competitions and singing camp songs with Quincy on the trampoline. He recently completed the Boulder Backroads Half-Marathon and is excited for the summer to begin!

Peter Himmelman

A truly multi-faceted musician, Peter Himmelman is a critically lauded rock troubadour, a Grammy nominated creator of children’s music, and an Emmy nominated film and television composer.

He has made three children's albums: My Best Friend Is A Salamander (1997), My Fabulous Plum (2000) and My Lemonade Stand (2004), with Both Plum and Salamander being recognized with a Parents' Choice Award and the Family Channel Seal Of Quality. Himmelman finds children's music "a vast and liberating universe of possibility,"

At a show in Aspen he pulled everyone out of the club and onto a mountainside to enjoy the rest of his performance -under a moonlit Colorado sky. "The ticket price to my show doesn't guarantee a field-trip, but I always strive to reach a place where time is suspended for me." Himmelman admits.

Sydney Solis
Storytime Yoga

Since 2000, Sydney Solis has been spreading the joy and wisdom of yoga and story with classes, performances, trainings and workshops internationally. From her children's show on PBS to The National Association for the Education of Young Children to the Estes Park Yoga Journal Conference, Sydney enchants audiences of all ages with Storytime Yoga.

Sydney has more than 375 hours of training in the Anusara tradition. She completed a 200-hour Anusara training with her teacher, Bhakti and Level I teacher training with Anusara founder John Friend.

She studied storytelling with Laura Simms, Rebecca Armstrong, Susan Marie-Frontczak and Kate Lutz.

Tommy Feldman Director Mountain Day Camp

Tommy grew up at camp. After many summers at day camp in Cleveland, Ohio, he started as one of the youngest campers and finished as Associate Director at North Star Camp in Wisconsin. After 5 years working at Cheley Colorado Camps in Estes Park, Tommy is taking his 25 years of camp experience and making his dream come true.

Tommy is very involved in the American Camp Association as Communications Chair for the American Camp Association Rocky Mountain Section. Tommy graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Natural Resource Management.

“The growth I experienced at camp influences everything I do in work and play. I wouldn’t be who I am, and I wouldn’t have my energetic and independent approach to life without it. Little did I know the influence camp was having on my life – I was just having fun!”
