Adventure Torah Online is a Zoom discussion and exploration class with Rabbi Alan.

  • We meet twice a month with the same topic.

    • the second Tuesday and
    • the third Wednesday of each month.

Private Lessons

We offer bespoke education for adults, tailored to suit your unique preferences and needs. These classes can be used to:
  • Begin a journey of Jewish learning
  • Enhance what you have already learned
  • Support study for conversion

Your choices shape the classes. You can select from a list of subjects, or choose a text to focus on. No Hebrew is needed. This class can supplement and expand on elements of our conversion program.

All lessons are one-to-one and taught online by our Rabbi or Educator.

Option B

Connect with Rabbi Alan Shavit-Lonstein to choose a text to focus on as we learn together. Possible texts include Perkei Avot, Weekly Torah, Mishna, Rashi, and Back to the Sources. If you bring an interest, we can find a text!

For both options, we would select topics that align with your interests for a unique and personalized learning experience.

About Rabbi Alan Shavit-Lonstein:

Rabbi Alan Shavit-Lonstein lives in Longmont CO, and loves hiking (especially 14ers), biking, and mountain air. He is a teacher who strives to make learning accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds and an officiant who works to build meaningful, authentic ceremonies.

Prior to moving to Boulder, he lived in  St Paul, MN, where he was the founding director of By The Rivers: A Multi-Faith Learning and Lifecycle Center, was a staff member at Hineni: A Center for Adult Jewish Learning and Contemplative Practices, and a member of the Interfaith Family Network.

For two years, he was the rabbi of the Tri-City Jewish Center in the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa. He then was the rabbi at Temple of Aaron, St. Paul, MN, from 2002 to 2014.

He and his wife Rebecca are blessed with three children: Noa, Naveh, and Naomi.
