A
note from Rabbi Jamie Korngold:
Many of you know Adam and Bobbee Griff – Adam (or “Griff”)
has been our songleader for the Rosh Hashanah Retreat for
many years. This summer, they are launching a new outdoor
adventure summer program called Adamah Adventures. Adamah
Adventures offers Jewish teens the chance to take on some
of the country’s most thrilling, awe-inspiring outdoor
adventures.
During
the 18-day trek, campers work in small groups alongside highly
trained staff members to experience both the thrill and the
quiet — the whitewater and the campfire — and
at the end of each week, an enthusiastic Shabbat under mountain
stars. The inaugural summer includes trips to the Blue Ridge
Mountains of Georgia and Tennessee, and to Utah. If you’ve
never been to a Jewish overnight camp, you could receive a
grant of up to $1,500! Early bird discounts and refer-a-friend
discounts are also available. For more information, please
visit their website, www.adamahadventures.org.
We wish them lots of success in this new venture!
About
Adamah Adventures:
Adamah Adventures offers teens the chance to break out of
the every day.
They get to see what the world looks like from the top of
a mountain or the bottom of a canyon…what it feels like
to wake up to the smell of breakfast on the fire or to fall
asleep surrounded by friends that feel like family. Adamah
Adventures presents a series of exciting treks that engage
teens summer after summer with new challenges, new landscapes,
and the chance to reconnect with friends from across the country.
For
campers looking to try a variety of activities, the Blue Ridge
Mountains is a great introduction to hiking, rafting and rock
climbing. More experienced campers will want to take on the
challenge of a more advanced trek, like the one to Utah. As
teens discover which activities they enjoy most, they can
choose more specialized treks focusing on specific activities,
such as rock climbing in Yosemite, canoeing the Boundary Waters,
backpacking in the Rockies, or kayaking in the Pacific Northwest.
What
makes Adamah Adventures unique?
The small group structure, premiere outdoor activities,
rigorous safety standards, delicious food, and the focus on
the joy of Jewish Life.
