Rebecca Shavit-Lonstein – Adventure Judaism Educator
Rebecca teaches most of our students. She grew up in Israel but has lived the majority of her life in the Midwest. She currently lives and works in Longmont, just north of Boulder, Colorado.
Rebecca has experience teaching Hebrew to middle and high school-aged youth at the Tri-City Jewish Center synagogue in Rock Island, Illinois, and Temple of Aaron in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She was also a Hebrew teacher at Talmud Torah day school in Saint Paul, as well as a substitute for Hebrew College in the Schools classes.
Rebecca is married to Rabbi Alan Shavit-Lonstein, who is one of the Adventure Rabbis. They have three children, Noa, Naveh, and Naomi and a grandchild Moira. She has organized, planned, and helped prepare her children for their B’nai Mitzvah and advised synagogue families in Minnesota on this very important life-cycle event.
She has Master’s degrees in Anthropology and Library Science and recently worked for a large consumer technology company.
