Shabbat with a View – Friday Night Service & Picnic

Imagine Friday night Shabbat Services on the breathtaking summit of Flagstaff Mountain. Our 6:00 p.m. service is held at the Sunrise Amphitheater, which offers panoramic views of the city of Boulder. Join us for an unforgettable Shabbat surrounded by fragrant pines, red-rock outcroppings, great company, and song.

  • Bring your family and friends or come alone and leave with new friends.
  • No hiking involved!
  • All ages are welcome.
  • The song-filled service will be finished by 7 pm.
  • At 7 pm, join us for a picnic at the Stone Shelter picnic area just across the parking lot.
  • Bring your picnic dinner and tablecloth.
  • No alcoholic beverages are permitted. (Boulder Open Space regulations)
  • Police will be present as a security precaution. Security is paid for by a grant from JEWISHcolorado.

Directions:

Address: 1198 Flagstaff Dr, Boulder, CO 80302. In Boulder, take Baseline Road west towards the mountains. Drive past Chautauqua Park on your left. The road’s name changes to Flagstaff Road. Drive (or bike!) 3.4 miles up Flagstaff Road to Realization Point, then turn right and go 0.5 miles on Flagstaff Summit Road. It takes longer than you would expect to get up there.

Parking:

All park visitors whose motor vehicles are not registered in Boulder County must possess a daily or annual permit to park on Flagstaff Mountain. There are self-service stations, or you can pay in advance here. The ParkMobile app parking zone is 24700>>

Dogs:

Please leave your dogs at home.

Rain Policy:

If it rains at 6:00 p.m., we will relocate to the Jaycee/Wood Shelter, which is just across the street from the Stone Shelter, where we picnic. Please bring a foldable chair and dress warmly if it is cold! But please know that it frequently rains in town and is fine in Flagstaff, or a storm can swiftly pass by, leaving us able to have our service.
